I don’t know about you other work at home moms – but listening to music can totally make my task list a little easier to get through.
Sitting at a computer all day, almost every day can be exhausting. It may sound like it wouldn’t make you tired – but it does. I start to feel like a caged animal. I get ants in my pants. Of course sitting is one of the worst positions for the human body to be in – and lack of exercise is doubly bad. So the sooner I get my work done – and get up and out of my little home office – the happier (and healthier) I am.
Of course, many of you know – I am a huge music lover. I play guitar, worked in radio for years….and just have always been a fan of music. All kinds of music. But even so….if you’re maybe not a HUGE fanatic like me – just hear me out. I have found that having music on – especially music I like – a playlist I created (with iTunes it’s easier than ever to listen to the music you love whenever and where ever you want!) some how tames the fidgets.
It might seem that music could be a distraction. But I have found that music occupies the restless part of my brain so that I can GET the stuff done here at my desk that I need to get done. Maybe there is some kind of science behind it – I don’t know? But it’s almost a calming medicine for my twirling, whirling brain.
Some days it’s Bon Jovi and Def Leppard (Hey!! I’m an 80′s girl!) Some days it’s Brittney, Alanis and Big Head Todd and the Monsters….
It just depends. But I promise – if you’re having this same kind of “can’t sit and focus” and just “get it done” issue while your putting in your “work at home” hours – you might try it.
Rock ON!
